How Invisalign® Works

Invisalign® works by applying gentle pressure to your teeth so they will move continuously throughout treatment until they reach the desired destination. The customized clear trays are crafted according to the plan mapped out by our dental team. If worn 20-22 hours a day and swapped out every two weeks (unless otherwise instructed), you can expect to see noticeable results much quicker than if you were to undergo orthodontic treatment with traditional metal braces.

The Benefits of Invisalign®

Clear and discreet aligners are not the only benefits of Invisalign®. Although it is one of the most popular reasons people choose this type of orthodontic care, it’s not the only advantage you can expect to receive. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy a more flexible form of treatment, as you’re required to remove your aligners before eating and drinking.
  • Appreciate how easy the aligners are to clean, only requiring a soft-bristle toothbrush, lukewarm water, and clear soap.
  • See results much quicker (on average) than with traditional braces. Instead of wearing metal brackets and wires for a few years, Invisalign® can generate a straighter set of teeth or bite in just 12-18 months.
  • Spend less time in the dentist’s office because the follow-up appointments only take about 30 minutes and are designed for us to check your progress.
  • Enjoy greater confidence during treatment because the focus won’t be on your metal braces.

Invisalign® FAQs

How Much Does Invisalign® Cost?

As part of your comprehensive exam, Dr. Bridenstine will work with you to determine what it will cost for your Invisalign treatment, and what portion of that may be covered by your dental insurance. The cost will vary from patient to patient based on many factors, including how many sets of Invisalign aligners you’ll need, how long you’ll be in treatment, and other factors. One of the great things about getting Invisalign® from Perfect Smiles Dental Care is that you’ll automatically be entered into the Whitening for Life program, so that once you’re finished, you’ll be able to keep your smile bright!

Can Invisalign® Be Covered by Insurance?

Whether your Invisalign® is covered by your dental insurance is ultimately dependent on your plan. Each one is different, but you can trust that our caring and patient-focused team will work on your behalf to get the answers you need before agreeing to start treatment. Most insurance companies will agree to pay a portion of orthodontic treatment, but you can expect that during your complimentary oral examination, we will find out how much your insurer will pay, as well as how much your out-of-pocket expenses will be.

How Long Will It Take to Straighten My Teeth with Invisalign®?

If you want to use Invisalign® to straighten your teeth, you’ll be required to wear your trays 20-22 hours a day. This is essential if you want to see results in as little as 12-24 months. Some patients are finished within 18 months! When meeting with Dr. Bridenstine, he will determine the severity of your case and decide what kind of timeline will be necessary to achieve the desired outcome. This will give you a better idea of what kind of budget and timeframe you can expect should you decide to move forward.
